Sunday Gravy with Brajole.

                                                           With Brajole & Spaghetti

Growing up in a Italian Family home my grandmother always made
Sunday Gravy with a side of meat which was either
                                                  Meatballs, Italian sausage, or Brajole.

I went to my herb garden and picked
some Basil, Italian Oregano, Italian Parsley.

                                                You will need :

  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 can  of tomato puree
  • 1 small can of tomato paste to thicken if needed.
  • Italian herbs
  • 7-8 garlic cloves
  • Olive oil
  • *optional-1 carrot *
  • May need to add water if gravy too thick
  •         1-2 slices thin top round beef.

                                                                Instructions :
                                                                  Peel & Chop Garlic ......
My husband & myself  enjoy working  as a team in the kitchen.

                                                                    Alot of garlic.....

                                                               Pound out round steak.
(This is my part ~ Lets me get out all my frustration)

Top the round steak with chopped garlic.

Add fresh basil on top ....

                                                                 Add season salt .
                                                           Drizzle Olive oil all over
                                                              Roll up the Brajole.

                                                            Tie with Kitchen twine.

Place the  Brajole in a pot with olive oil and brown on all sides .

While the meat is browning , wash the Italian herbs.
Italian Oregano & Basil & Italian Parsley.
                                                       Herbs ready to be chopped.

                                                  Check on Brajole-Ready to turn.

After browning remove Brajole and set aside.

Add Olive oil & garlic to the pot.
Add the Brajole back into the pot.
Cook the garlic until tender ...Be careful not to burn.

Time to add the tomatoes......

                                                                I'm chopping away .......

Ready to add to the Gravy.....

                                                             Sprinkle in the herbs.....

                                                                  Love these colors .

Stir the herbs with the Gravy until well combined.

                                                                            Done....
Normally you would slow cook the sauce on simmer
however we are sortof hungry so we transferred the gravy
to the pressure cooker to speed up the progress.

Add a pinch of baking soda to reduce the acidity from the tomatoes.

Sitr & cover . Cook for 20 minutes.

                                                    Prepare your spaghetti of choice.
I'm using Jovial Gluten -free pasta.

After sauce is done , remove Brajole.
Cut & Remove twine from the Brajole.
                                                                  Slice the Brajole.

Look at all that yummy goodness of garlic & basil ....

                                                                 Cover with Gravy.
Smells so good in my kitchen  !!!!
