                                                                     Trick or Treat ?

My husband & I were invited to a Halloween Party .

                                                                      NO TRICKS!!!!
I'm in charge of bringing the treats ........

My 1st treat ~ Candy Corn popcorn .

                                                            ( Gluten Free too!)

Ingredients :
  • Popcorn : Fresh popped or store bought popcorn of choice                        (This recipe I used Kettle corn )
  • 3 Tbsp Earth Balance butter spread
  • 1  Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 t vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup  candy corn (1 small bag)
  • 1/4 t sea salt
  • Sprinkle Enjoy Life Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Chips that are dairy- , soy- and gluten-free and sprinkle flavored candy corn . I used Caramel apple candy corn.

If you are not using store bought popcorn then
the 1st step would be is to start popping  the popcorn and set aside.
Heat a medium-sized pot over medium heat
and add the Earth Balanced butter spread.

                                                               Add the candy corn,

to the butter and stir to combine as it melts.

Add sea salt to the butter & candy corn mixture.

Add brown sugar & stir ...

                                                                      Add vanilla

and stir until all is combined .

Put the popcorn in a  large mixing bowl.
Pour the liquid candy corn mixture on top of popcorn.

Spray your spoon (I prefer a wooden spoon)
with non-stick spray and your baking pan.
Pour the coated popcorn onto the greased baking pan
Spread out the candy corn popcorn
and allow to cool for 30 minutes or until set.
After it cools I'm using a small spatula
to break up the popcorn into pieces.

Sprinkle in the caramel apple candy corn.

                                                      Sprinkle in the chocolate chips.

Scrape the popcorn off the baking pan
Into your decorative Halloween serving container.

Enjoy!
